Kareena Kapoor Khan was once not just the highest paid actress in Bollywood, but she was also the highest tax-paying actress. It comes as no surprise then that Saif Ali Khan endorses gender equality when it comes to equal pay for women in the industry.

“Price tags are related to box office success,” he explains. “So, if a star is successful — be it male or female — it also ends up being about what one charges. I sincerely hope there’s a proper equality in pay scales for men and women in Bollywood too. It does happen in America, and I hope it happens here too.”

And this extends to Kangana Ranaut too, he answers. “She’s a great actress. My equation with her is full of warmth and friendliness every time we meet. I think she should also be charging what she feels is right,” says the actor.
