Islamabad: Former Pakistan foreign minister Khawaja Asif on Wednesday challenged the decision of Islamabad High Court (IHC) regarding his disqualification over iqama (work permit) in the Supreme Court.

On April 27, IHC disqualified Mr Asif from the parliament under Article 62 (1) (f). As per details garnered, the verdict was announced by Justice Athar Minallah.

The bench disqualified Khawaja Asif in the following words: “We declare that the Respondent was not qualified to contest the General Election of 2013 from NA 110 as he did not fulfill the conditions described under Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution, read with section 99(1)(f) of the Act of 1976.
