Leaked windows alpha and beta builds have surfaced ahead of official releases before and revealed significant changes in the operating system before Microsoft could themselves unveil the features.

Now we have a build for what looks like the next update of Windows 10 and testers have revealed what the new start menu looks like. While they do have mixed reactions for the new look of the age old classic Windows navigation tool (and we agree), the design itself may not be the final one we see on Over-The-Air updates.

Testers got to the revamped design after Microsoft accidentally pushed a Windows 10 build marked #18947. The build was reportedly only for the company’s internal testers, but it has now been leaked by the company themselves for everyone out there.

The most noticeable change in the new Start-menu is that we can see no more Live Tiles, a feature Microsoft desperately wanted us to rely on since the change came with Windows 8. However looks like the company finally understands that nobody really used much of what the Live Tiles offered.

The new menu we see instead rocks a search bar and the app list is gone. The five column grid looks much cleaner to the earlier Start menus.
