Mumbai: The Mumbai Fire Brigade is yet to arrive at the cause of the fire at Kamala Mills. However, three possibilities, flames during a fire stunt by a bartender, the burning coal used for hookah and a short circuit are being explored in the probe, said fire officials. Meanwhile, on Saturday,  the water and electricity connections of both the pubs were severed.

According to fire officials, a temporary monsoon shed, bamboos and plastic tarpaulins at these pubs made the blaze worse. Eyewitnesses had blamed the pyrotechnics by bartenders and hookah for the eruption of fire.

“The preliminary probe report is not yet ready as the work of clearing the remains is still going on,” said deputy chief fire officer Kailash Hivrale.
