Mumbai: Reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishing the nation ahead of Diwali, state Congress chief Ashok Chavan has invited Mr Modi to spend Diwali in Marathwada this year.

Mr Chavan, while addressing a rally in Parbhani, Marathwada, said farmers from the region were wondering how to celebrate Diwali. He said that the drought situation needed urgent national attention and so Mr Modi should spend his Diwali in the region.
