53rd witness turns hostile in Sohrab case

He is the 53rd witness to turn hostile out of the 77 witnesses who have appeared before the court.

Mumbai: One more witness in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati fake encounter case turned hostile on Friday.

The witness, a junior clerk from Udaipur, in his statement before the CBI had confirmed in the past that the collector’s office had received a letter from Prajapati in which he had expressed apprehension about a threat to his life in jail.

However, on Friday, the witness denied having given any such statement. The court then declared him hostile.

He is the 53rd witness to turn hostile out of the 77 witnesses who have appeared before the court.

On Friday while deposing as witness in the court Bhatnagar said that the CBI had called him to their office but he had not given any statement to them.

Following this special public prosecutor B. P. Raju requested the Judge S. J. Sharma to declare this witness hostile.
