First-time BJP MLA demands Muslim quota

Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Katol, Nagpur, Ashish Deshmukh, has made a dema-nd for Muslim reservation in Maharashtra.

Mr Deshmukh said that looking at the condition of the community as a whole, reservation was a must for overall development. The first-time BJP MLA is known for his rebellious statements against his own party.

Speaking at a programme ‘Majlis-e-Musli-meen’ during a festival arranged by the BJP MLA in his constituency, Mr Deshmukh said, “The earlier government had cleared reservation for the Muslim community. It was a big and necessary decision. But this government is not giving reservation to the community.”
