CID submits chargesheets in fake doctor hiring scam

Kolkata: The criminal investigation department (CID) on Monday submitted its two chargesheets at the Bidhannagar court in the fake doctor recruitment scam. It filed the chargesheet on the 89th day after taking over the case from the Bidhannagar police station.

CID deputy inspector general of police (operations) Nishat Parvez said that four arrested fake doctors were booked under sections 419 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (use of forged document) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and section 29 of the Bengal Medical Act in the chargesheet.

They were Naren Pandey, Ajay Tewary, Rama Shankar Singh and Dibyendu Chakraborty. In another case, the state detective agency chargesheeted another fake doctor — Ramesh Chandra Baidya and two others.
