Kolkata: State education minister Partha Chatterjee faced protests from students of some colleges at the Calcutta University (CU) at the College Street campus over the leakage of Political Science question papers of B.A. Part II (general) examinations scheduled on Thursday.

The examination was postponed immediately after the alleged leakage came into the notice of the CU authorities. According to university sources, the papers leaked from the Baghajatin Sammelani College in south Kolkata. “I have directed the vice chancellor of CU to immediately suspend the principal of the concerned college where the leak took place. A probe is on and he will remain suspended until the enquiry is complete,” Mr Chatterjee said.

The minister was at the university campus to flag off government buvarious campuses of the varsity to facilitate the movement of students, teachers and other
university staff. Students of various colleges, including Vidyasagar College and Bangabasi College had gathered at the campus protesting against the leak.
