New Delhi: Over 160 passengers were forced to wait inside a Jet Airways flight at IGI Airport while they were travelling from Delhi to Lucknow on Friday.

The airline staffers allegedly misguided the passengers for more than two hours, and the passengers alleged that it was “suffocating” inside the aircraft. The matter came to light after a BJP leader from UP, who had also boarded the flight, tweeted for help.

While talking to this correspondent over phone, BJP leader Dr Shweta Singh said, “I was going to Lucknow and boarded the flight at 1.45 pm on Friday. The airline staff announced that owing to some technical fault the flight could not take off at its scheduled time. People were feeling uneasy and I was forced to take to the social media.”

Jet Airways replied to Dr Singh’s tweet with one of their own: “Our team is working hard to get you on your way soon. ETD 1600 hrs. Sincerely regret the inconvenience faced.”
