Student fights off abductors, left wounded

New Delhi: An MBA student was saved in the nick of time after she fought off her kidnappers who tried to abduct her and were later taking her to a jungle.

According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday night when the MBA student was returning from a coffee shop at Connaught Place. The 27-year-old brave student, Shikha (name changed), lives with her parents in Noida and is pursuing her MBA from Delhi University.

On Thursday night, Shikha and her friends visited a coffee shop at Connaught Place, following which she left for her home at about 8 pm. She was riding a two-wheeler and had just crossed National Handicrafts Museum when she was allegedly surrounded by a car and a motorcycle The assailants then put a knife on her and allegedly tried to abduct her. Exhibiting courage, the woman tried to fight off her assailants with her helmet. 

In the melee, the student was allegedly repeatedly stabbed by her attackers but continued to put up a brave front and managed to fight them until she fell unconscious on the road. 

Meanwhile, an alert passerby noticed the injured woman being dragged off towards the bushes by her attackers and he immediately raised an alarm. Fearing that they’ll get caught, the attackers fled the spot with her mobile phone and cash. 

The alert citizen then moved the injured woman to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and informed her parents, who then rushed to the hospital. When contacted, the jurisdictional police said that no one has come forward to register any plaint.
