CPI joins Jogi-Maya alliance, gets 2 seats

Bhopal: Former chief minister Ajit Jogi who, has literally staged a coup by wooing BSP supremo Mayawati to stitch an alliance with his recently floated regional party in Chhattisgarh on Sun-day, achieved almost a si-milar feat by getting an-other poll partner in CPI.

The alliance was billed to get a major boost with joining of CPI in it, pollsters in Chhattisgarh said.

CPI which holds some sway in tribal-dominated regions of Bastar division in Chhattisgarh has been given Konta (ST) and Dantewada (ST) Assembly constit-uencies to field its candidates in the coming Assembly polls in Chhattisgarh.

Janata Congress Chhattisgarh founded by Mr Jogi after he broke away from Congress in 2016 forged an alliance with Ms Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party last month for the Assembly elections in Chhatti-sgarh, scheduled to be held in two phases on November 12 and 20.
