4 accused in Vyapam scam get 4-year jail

Earlier on February 21 this year, a special CBI court convicted five Vyapam scam accused and sentenced them to seven-year imprisonment each.

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh high court on Tuesday sentenced four Vyapam scam accused to four-year-imprisonment each after convicting them in the case. Those convicted are Deepak Jatav, Bhagirath, Dewan Jatav and Laxmi Narayan.

They were convicted for their involvement in the scandal involving recruitment of forest guards in 2013, according to the public prosecutor.

Deepak was considered the key accused in the scandal and Laxmi Narayan was hired to appear the recruitment test on behalf of the beneficiary candidates. Bhagirath and Dewan were the alleged middlemen who had arranged solvers or proxy candidates for the beneficiary candidates in the scandal.
