Urmila inspires Sara’s obsessive Jamai Raja act

The creatives of the show coaxed the actress to watch the film over and over again to get the nuances of Urmila’s character right.

In the upcoming track of her show Jamai Raja, Sara Arfeen Khan will be seen reprising Urmila Matondkar’s obsessive and self-destructive lover act from the movie Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. The makers of the show are meticulously working to spin a major twist in the plot.

Sara’s character Mahi will be shown waking up in a hospital room. The creatives of the show  coaxed the actress to watch the film over and over again to get the nuances of Urmila’s character right.

Speaking about her role, Sara says, “This is definitely going to be one of the most challenging roles I have ever played. I didn’t know this was coming my way.” She admits it is quite a responsibility after watching Urmila in the film. She explains, “I am elated that I am doing something different from my previous work. But to be honest, when I saw Urmila in the film, I was petrified.  So when the creatives told me I will be doing something similar, I was rather nervous. But then I told myself that karke dekhtein hain (let me try it). I have watched the film quite a few times to get the act right. I hope I have done justice to it.”
