According to a source, Vijan offered the film to Rao after being wowed by his performance in the horror-comedy Stree.

Rajkummar Rao seems to be on a roll with a number of projects lined up for release. As he prepares to work with his Stree producer Dinesh Vijan again, the actor’s learning Gujarati for Made In China.

“Yes, I am learning Gujarati for Made In China,  which is set in Gujarat and China. I have a tutor, but trust me, it has not been easy. We will begin shooting in September,” Rao says.

Made In China is supposed to be a hilarious take on a struggling Gujarati businessman’s bizarre journey to becoming a successful entrepreneur. The film marks the Bollywood debut of Gujarati director Mikhil Musale, whose 2016 film Wrong Side Raju bagged the National Award for Best Gujarati Feature Film.
