Known for her exceptional oratory skills and remarkable tenure as External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj passed away at 67 late on Tuesday night of a cariac arrest at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. (Photo: File)
Sushma Swaraj was born on 14 February 1953 at Ambala Cantt, Haryana, to Hardev Sharma and Shrimati Laxmi Devi. Her
father was an eminent Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) member.

Sushma Swaraj has a bachelor's degree with majors in Sanskrit and Political Science. She studied law at Punjab University and started her practice as an advocate in the Supreme Court of India in 1973.

Swaraj had bagged many firsts in her political career. Such as being the country’s youngest-ever Cabinet Minister. In 1977
she became the youngest cabinet minister to serve in the Haryana government at the age of 25.

Remembering the JP movement, Swaraj shared this picture on her Twitter.
"With Shri Jayaprakash Narayan ji at his residence in Patna. We were together in the JP movement," She wrote.

1974 was started against misrule and corruption in the state government.
