Police probes threat to builder Parmar’s son
Thane police has started probing the possible role of four corporators after builder Suraj Parmar’s son filed a complaint that he has received a threat call warning him not to pursue the suicide case of his father.
On Thursday he filed a complaint in Naupada police station, after which a team of police is checking call details to his phone and their locations.
Sources said, “Abhishek (Suraj Parmar’s son) told in his complaint that he doubts the corporators, whose names have been written in his father’s suicide note.
“A police team has already started its work to find the main culprit behind the call,” they said, adding “They will also take the details of the four corporators’ call records to check about their involvement in the case.”
After receiving the forensic science laboratory (FSL) report of the suicide note of Parmar, the Thane police said that the deceased had blamed four corporators for driving him to suicide. Police officials have further given protection to Parmar’s family as he had written in his suicide note after striking off the names of the ‘culprits’ that if he revealed the names, they would harm his family.
Meanwhile, the corporators have said that the high court has given them anticipatory bail as interim relief and with the hearing to extend their bail coming up shortly, allegations such as those leveled by Parmar’s son may result in them not getting bail.
Meanwhile, Vikrant Chauhan one of the corporators, said he got threats call from gangster Ravi Pujari, warning him to “stay away” from Parmar’s projects.
Mr Chauhan said he received threat calls on Wednesday morning and the gangster had told him he had had invested money in Parmar’s projects and would shoot Mr Chauhan if he did not do as he was told and stayed away.
Mr Chavan also said Pujari gave him an international mobile number to call him back. The corporator filed a complaint in Vartak nagar police station about the same.
