Gang of kidnappers arrested from Sion

Mumbai police has nabbed a gang of three who had allegedly kidnapped a bank manager from crowded Khairwadi junction on Tuesday. The accused are repeat offenders.

Mumbai police has nabbed a gang of three who had allegedly kidnapped a bank manager from crowded Khairwadi junction on Tuesday. The accused are repeat offenders. The manager was kidnapped while the manager was on his way home from work. After kidnapping the manager, the gang also took away his laptop and wallet, used his ATM card and made a withdrawal of about Rs 80,000. The victim later approached the MRA Marg police station and booked an FIR. The case was then forwarded to the Khairwadi police.

While investigating the case, the police was tipped off about the accused, after which a trap was laid and the accused arrested near Hanuman Hotel in Sion. The accused have been identified as Shivpal Singh (34), Rakesh Arundhati (28) and Pankaj Maurya (28). The Police has booked them under relevant sections of the IPC and recovered Rs 42 lakh from them.

Shivpal, the mastermind of the crime, had been convicted earlier in a housebreaking case.
