City to see 2 technological festivals soon
The city will be witnessing two technological festivals from December 26-28 to be held at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) and the Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute at Wadala.
While both Technovanza at VJTI and Techfest at IIT-B will have numerous eye-catching technological marvels on display, the difference will be pertaining to content. Due to lack of funds and low budget, Technovanza will have exhibits mostly from India and a couple of international exhibits on the other hand Techfest, which is rumoured to have a budget of nearly '1.5 crore, will have numerous international exhibits from Europe, America and some Asian countries too. Hence, Technovanza is considered to be the poor man’s technological fest, while Techfest is termed as the rich man’s festival.
The difference can be seen in events as well as the speakers too. While Techfest has nearly 12 segments ranging from lectures, IT and engineering competitions, races and new technology there are only seven segments at Technovanza. Other events at Techfest are Robowars, International Robotics Challenge, SoUL, Full Throttle and Ozone.
