28-year-old man found dead near Mumbai airport gate
The body of a 28-year-old man with a history of drug addiction was found near the parking lot of gate number 8 of Mumbai airport at Kalina on Friday afternoon. The Vakola police has registered a case of accidental death and is probing the matter. A senior official from Vakola police station confirmed the same and said they would send the body for autopsy and would await the report. The reason of the death has not been identified yet.
Anand Chinakannu, the deceased, was working as a conservancy staffer. According to the police, they had booked him under provisions of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act in the past for consumption of drugs. A police source said there were several marks on his body, about which family said that many a time, he had inflicted injuries on himself under the effect of drugs.
The police was informed on its helpline number about a man lying in the parking lot of gate number 8 around 1 pm today. After rushing to the spot, the police sent Chinakannu to hospital, where he was declared dead.
