Mumbai: Taking a dig at the BJP and RSS, NCP leader Dhananjay Munde Tuesday said that one did not become wise by wearing trousers in place of shorts. He was responding to a recent statement made by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis that the pants of the Opposition will be down on May 23 when the Lok Sabha election results are out.

Mr Munde, while addressing a campaign rally of Parth Pawar at Maval constituency, said, “Following in the footsteps of Mr Modi, chief minister Fadnavis, too, has become loquacious. If you start wearing full pants instead of half pants, you do not become wise. Those who are using the language of pulling down the pants should learn to remain in their own pants. Otherwise, their pants will be pulled down before the election.”

In the same rally, Mr Munde slammed Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. “You are not a member of the Gram Panchayat or Zilla Parishad, you are not a MLA or minister then from where have you earned so much wealth?” he asked. He alleged that in order to avoid the probe against him by the ED, Mr Thackeray bowed down before Aurangzeb (Mr Modi). “It was not that you even cheered for Gujarat,” he said.

Calling this election a war against irreligious people, he appealed people to vote for Parth. He said, “The Pawar family has taken a responsibility to develop the area and it is their motto. Parth has the same guts to work hard for development. In Parth’s leadership, Uran will be developed as other international harbours.”
