Known for its natural beauty, Europe boasts of some of the best places to stay as well. From tree-houses to truck-houses, these places let you truly explore and take that much-needed digital detox. Here are 5 places in Europe for a blissful retreat:

Forest sauna, Sweden

Located in central Sweden are 12 charcoal huts that dreamily camouflage with the trees. There’s a fireplace inside, but no running water. You can take a full dip in the nearby lake, and pick the blueberries that grow around. Kolarbyn offers these eco-lodges with sauna all throughout the year.

House on stilts, Norway

With stunning views and well-water to offer, the Tessungdalen valley in south Norway is home to the River Eye Treehouse, a hidden European gem. Nestle away peacefully, or go for hikes and kayaking, with no interruptions. You can also explore the wild, with the house’s owner Isaac leading treks into the wild.

Treehouses, France

Somewhere in the forests near Rouen, Normandy, are 10 treehouses known for some amazing hospitality, all by Les Cabanes de Fontaine-Châtel. The place offers breakfast hampers in the morning, and you can go about spotting wildlife. The houses are spaced well apart to give the guests privacy.

Truck-house and more, Portugal

Who said you can’t live in trucks? Conscious Earth is an eco-retreat in southern Portugal with fun, quirky accommodation facilities. The Shambhala Gypsy Truck is a colourful one, while Tubakula is a Fijian style home made from recycled timber. As The Guardian suggests, with minimal network range and no wi-fi at all, it makes for a perfect eco-retreat.

Organic farm, Italy

A 17th century farmhouse is all you need for a perfect accommodation. Nestle away in Podere Vallescura, northern Perugia and experience the farm-life with plentiful herb production. You can use a spring for drinking water and solar panels to heat water. You can also help in harvesting these herbs.
