Baghel wants simultaneous byelections

Baghel told the local media that he was surprised why byelections to both the assembly seats were not being held simultaneously.

Bhopal: Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday urged the EC to hold byelections to Chitrakoot and Dantewada assembly constituencies in Bastar simultaneously.

The EC on Sunday announ-ced bypolls for Dantewada (ST) Assembly seat on Sep-tember 23, the notification for which is scheduled to be issued on August 28. Filing of nomination for the bypolls is scheduled to end on September 4 and results of the byelection would be declared on September 27.

 

Mr Baghel told the local media that he was surprised why byelections to both the assembly seats were not being held simultaneously.
