A look at the travel trends throughout 2021 has revealed that Rajasthan is among the most sought after tourist destinations in India. Its variety of accommodation, state of art hospitality, ease of travel and range of experiences makes the state one of the most welcoming regions in the country.

According to Thrillophilia's trends from the last quarter of 2021, approximately 8.6%  of domestic travellers intend to visit Rajasthan, 4.78 percent intend to visit the North East, and 3.54 percent intend to visit Kerala. On the plus side, approximately 7.89 percent of users want to visit Himachal Pradesh, 6.88 percent want to visit Uttarakhand, 6.5 percent want to visit Goa, and more than  3.07 percent want to visit Kashmir. Other Indian states account for 58.71 percent of total visitors. The data was collected in the fourth quarter of 2021, and the figures are still rising with the commencement of 2022. Rajasthan continues to be the most popular destination in India, with 8.6 percent of visitors preferring it over all other destinations.

Below is a list of major constraints which collectively make Rajasthan the most popular destination among tourists.

Jaipur attracts 21% of Tourist Influx, followed by Udaipur at 16%

As per the data of Thrillophilia, in terms of tourism, Rajasthan is an all-inclusive destination. That is, while bigger cities within the state attract high tourist footfall for their boisterous tourist spots, smaller cities such as Bikaner and Pushkar are equally popular for leisurely tourism. However, some cities stand out in terms of tourist popularity which could be seen in their preference of Rajasthan Packages.

Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, attracts the most number of travelers- a total 21% of the whole group. With its fantastic monuments, havelis and adventure options, Jaipur is a popular visit in both short stays and longer holidays. Calling 16% travelers, Udaipur is especially popular among luxury tourists looking for palatial stays. Jodhpur,  home to some of Rajasthan's most beautiful forts and palaces, comes next, attracting around 12% of the total tourist influx. Jaisalmer's desert ambience attracts 14% of the total traveling population, whether it be to tour the magnificent Jaisalmer Fort or to enjoy a night of camping in the desert. Ranthambore, too, attracts a considerable 9% of travelers, mostly wildlife enthusiasts and adventurers looking for novelty experiences in the Ranthambore National Park.

●    Ease of Travel
The facility of transportation in Rajasthan is Safe, Efficient and easily accessible. Ranging from national highways to International Airports, Rajasthan is blessed with various modes of transportation which further help people in visiting here easily. There are three major airports in Rajasthan- the Sanganer International Airport in Jaipur, Jodhpur Airport and the Dabok International Airport in Udaipur. Considering the rails, the major railway stations in Rajasthan are in Jodhpur, Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota, Mount Abu, Bikaner, Ajmer, Alwar and Bharatpur. However, the stations in Jaipur and Kota attract the most arrivals. Rajasthan has 20 national highways that run through the state which connect Rajasthan to other metro cities in India such as Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Indore. There are frequent buses issued by the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation that support interstate travel as well.

With the rise of new variants of COVID-19, safety has become a major matter of concern and the government of Rajasthan has taken various measures to curb the same. The public places are more clean and hygienic now and while entering the borders, one is asked either to present a report declaring that they are vaccinated or a negative RT-PCR report. Also, social distancing, frequent sanitization and wearing a mask has been made mandatory.

With the newly passed amendment bill, Rajasthan Government has made any kind of misbehavior with tourists a “non-bailable” offense. Acts where vendors charge unexpected high prices or indulge in verbal or physical abuse with a tourist will be reviewed under a bar now and can be considered a cognizable offense.
