Music and sports have been an inspiration for these Canadians when it comes to the designs of their brand, Ordnry. They focus on how you feel when wearing their clothing. If you go into their Winnipeg store you will notice that they always play the same type of music, which also inspires the way that they decorate inside.

We decided to ask Nick Welch, Adrian Kinnavanthong and Jon Blumberg, (owners of Ordnry) a few questions about them and their business to get to know them better.

We asked them for their story, what makes them unique? They consider themselves to be normal people, just like me, and you who happen to be really good in the fashion industry and at gaining the attention of many people including  Madonna (recording artist), Tory Lanez (recording artist), OBJ (nfl), and the many more who are endorsing the Ordnry brand. They have always had a passion for fashion, in fact Nick had actually started selling clothing out of his backpack in high school that he ordered from China. After high school Nick moved from city to city across Canada, fully immersing himself in the fashion industry and trying to learn all that he could about it. After a few years, he moved back to Winnipeg, Canada to begin building the brand that today is one of the most notable Canadian Streetwear Brands in the market with his two friends.

Next we had asked if any of them have previously owned a company, and if so, what kind?

Nick had run a massage business before he got into the fashion industry. This experience had helped him understand the basics of business before starting up with his own brand. He now owns and manages Ordnry Clothing.

When asked “when did you know you found the right idea and how did you capitalize on It?”

We were told that Nick, Adrian, and Jon realized there was a hole in the market of upscale contemporary fashion, being from Winnipeg, and they knew that they could fill that gap. One common theme Nick found in the market was a serious lack of quality. Quality is the backbone of what Ordnry was built on, and their commitment to the perfect quality has led to Iconic celebrities such as Madonna repping their clothing for the last five years and recently in 2019 collaborating on her official tour merchandise.

Next, we asked what made them choose this business? Nick found himself designing his own clothing and shoes while in high school. Nick and Ordnry Clothing chose the fashion business as a platform to inspire the masses to live a far from ordinary life through their designs. He always thought further than just clothing, his passion is ultimately to create a certain lifestyle.

When asked what is unique about their brand, they had quite a few factors to name.

Nick and Ordnry’s mission is to inspire the masses to live a far from ordinary life just like

the celebrities that wear the gear. 1) Madonna repped the brand for many years and collaborated to do a portion of her most recent 2019 tour merchandise. 2) Athletes like Kelly Olynyk (Miami Heat – NBA) repping the brand and collaborating on designs.

3) World-Class Dancer - Lil Buck the Legend - Danced with Madonna, Pharrell,

amongst many more artists - He is our Brand Ambassador 4) Swizz Beats (producer/artist), Tboz (TLC), OBJ (nfl), Southside (Producer), Tory Lanez (recording artist), DJ Envy (DJ), Connor McDavid (NHL), Connor McDavid (NHL), Janelle Monae (actress/recording artist), Howie Mandel (comedian/actor), Anthony Pettis (UFC) and Joan Smalls (VS Model) to name a few more celebrities wearing the brand.

Last but not least we asked them how their business got started and what motivated/inspired them in this Process? For Ordnry it began in 2012 when Nick noticed a gap in the Winnipeg market. When their doors first opened, Ordnry was a lifestyle boutique that specialized in streetwear and shoes of different brands. In 2013 their known barbershop Ordnry Cuts was opened upstairs in the loft. Ordnry began to gain traction within the local community and they began to grow quickly and production ramped up.

We would like to thank Nick and his team for the feedback and we would like to encourage you to check them out too @ordnryclothing or at www.ordnry.com.
