During this quiz-cum-game show, the contestants must answer a total of ten questions on 10 different subjects to win over ten lakh rupees
Weekends are meant for fun. Learning is supposed to be fun too. What if the two were thrown in together with generous toppings of fun and frolic? Out comes an engaging game show that is a superfood for your brain on all fronts. It is informative, knowledgeable and offers truckloads of fun. Is it any wonder You V YouTube has been receiving millions of views for each of its episodes?
A YouTube Originals show, produced by Fremantle, You V YouTube was launched on 9th October 2021 and its new episodes are streamed at 7pm on every Saturday and Sunday. This quiz show has its very own creative bench comprising twelve popular YouTube creators who are veterans from a wide array of spheres from Math to Movies, from English to Environment, from Sports to Finance and from Technology to Travel. These creators curate their questions and challenge the contestants with them, while also explaining the concepts, facts and trivia behind their questions.
During this quiz-cum-game show, the contestants must answer a total of ten questions on ten different subjects for an opportunity to win over ten lakh rupees. With every correct answer, the prize money doubles. The maestros who ask these questions are: Ceema Picardo, the English phonologist, Gaurav Chaudhary, the technology guru, Roshni Mukherjee, the Science teacher par excellence, Arun Krishnamurthy, the environmentalist, Sucharita Tyagi, the encyclopaedia of movies and music, Ganesh Pai, the math wizard, Reena D’Souza, the sports expert, Gaurav Garg, the general knowledge master, Nidhi Mohan Kamal, the health and wellness expert, Ranveer Brar, celebrity chef, Rachana Ranade, the financial expert and Tanya Khanijow, the travel pandit. While the first nine of them are the permanent creators of the show who would be asking the first nine questions to the contestants, Ranveer, Rachana and Tanya are the guest creators who will be on rotation with one of them quizzing the contestants on the “wildcard” topic chosen for that episode.
Sounds intriguing? Wait till you hear what else is in store in this show!
You V YouTube is hosted by none other than Gaurav Kapur, the celebrity Indian Television presenter, who is a household name throughout the country as the host of Extraaa Innings T20, the pre-match cricket show of Indian Premier League (IPL). People all over India know for a fact that Gaurav does not spare anyone when it comes to pulling legs. He won't even spare himself! He does a mean job of engaging everyone - right from the contestants, the player pool, the subject matter experts to the audience throughout the show, ensuring that they are all in their elements and are having as much fun as the makers of the show promise that they would!
In all senses, Gaurav Kapur literally strings all the participants of the show together, with his witty remarks and hilarious observations. He breaks out into impromptu dances, encouraging everyone else to do it too, comes out with different accents, challenges Ranveer to slice onions without shedding tears, argues that sleep is a form of workout too (don't we all agree to that!). One of the most inspiring parts of the shows are his “Did you know” jibes in which he exposes the hidden, unusual talents of the creators like Ceema being ambidextrous and Ganesh being an endurance cyclist which are truly awe-inspiring. His pointing out to the image behind one of the contestants, asking him whether he would bother to change it, his challenging Nidhi to make a sugary chocolate cake healthy and his innumerable wisecracks to ease the tension when contestants struggle to come up with answers are all moments that are worth watching in loop.
Gaurav Kapur gleefully banters about how thrilled he is that there are so many “Gaurav’s” in the show and that it is the best name for anyone to have, naming himself GK in the process. He calls Ganesh Pai, a “baby-faced assassin”, Nidhi, the biggest enemy of “Chole Bhature”, Omkar, one of the contestants as “Omkarpedia” and takes a playful dig at Roshni for being a topper during her student days. Every episode of You V YouTube is filled with such light-hearted humour which makes the entire learning process fun and effortless.
The entire series of You V YouTube has been filmed virtually, enabling everyone to participate in it from the safety of their homes. Fremantle, the makers of the show are very proud of achieving this feat while keeping its educational and entertainment quotients intact. Talking about his experience in hosting the show, Gaurav Kapur says every day on this show is a learning experience for him and he is thrilled to share the platform with all the experts.
