2 criminals killed by one bullet in Tilak Nagar
Two men, both with criminal histories, died during an altercation over primacy in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area on Thursday night. According to the police, the deceased have been identified as rivals Manoj, 25, and Deepak, 24.
Preliminary probe has revealed that both were shot dead with the same bullet which Deepak’s associate had fired on Manoj. “We have learnt from our probe till now that Deepak asked his associate, during a fight over primacy, to shoot Manoj dead,” said a senior police officer, adding, “As Deepak held Manoj by his back to stop him from defending himself or running away from the spot, the bullet which was shot hit Deepak after piercing Manoj’s abd-omen.” “Both of them died with the same bullet.” The police said that both their bodies were sent for an au-topsy and results are awa-ited. The police added that they have registered a case of murder at the Tilak Na-gar police station and further investigations are on.
The incident, cops said, took place just 15 days after Manoj had come out of prison in connection with a dacoity case. “After coming out of the jail, Manoj was looking for an opportunity to settle scores with Deepak who had taken over his area of dominance,” said the senior police officer, adding, “On Thursday night both ran into each other in DSIDC colony and started fighting.” “It was during this period that Deepak called his aide and asked him to shoot Manoj dead.” Man-oj’s father is an MCD empl-oyee and stayed in Arjan Colony locality. The officials are trying to find out Deepak’s aide who fled the spot after the incident.
