Bihar abuse: CBI to file fresh cases

New Delhi: The CBI, probing the Muzaffarpur shelter home sexual abuse case, is set to register five fresh FIRs against the private persons, who allegedly have links with the prime accused Brajesh Thakur, on the basis of revelations made by certain victims.

Sources said, “The CBI is preparing to register five fresh FIRs to probe the role of seven private persons who allegedly have links to Thakur. The agency will soon issue summons to them for questioning”. A special POCSO court in Bihar recently directed the CBI to record the statement of an accused doctor in the case and look into allegations made by him against several senior government officials and private persons. Dr Ashwani Kumar, accused of administering sedatives to the victims, had filed a petition alleging that the “CBI is suppressing facts.”
