Who is Steven Kelly?

Steven Kelly is a full-time soldier serving in 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery. He has trained and instructed weapons, survival and Bushcraft skills in the British army for 18 years, working in Afghanistan, Norway, Sierra Leone, and numerous other countries.

Along with teaching Bushcraft skills in the army, he is also the founder of South West Survival.

South West Survival is a company that teaches and trains Children, students, and professionals in crucial Bushcraft skills. He has spent all his life teaching and practising these skills and has witnessed life-changing moments in his and his students' life because of these skills.

Building a Shelter

Building a Shelter is one of the most important and exciting parts of learning Bushcraft skills. The two biggest reasons for learning how to build a shelter are protecting yourself from wild animals and the cold.

Hypothermia is a significant risk for anyone living in the wild.

Lighting a Fire

Lighting a fire has numerous benefits while you are in the lap of nature. The first and foremost thing is cooking, which you cannot go without.

Steven teaches the art of lighting a fire without using any equipment and just with things you find in the wild. Some other benefits are:

● Protecting you from insects

● Protecting you from different kinds of wildlife, including most predators

Knots

Tying a knot might seem simple, but there is a lot that you can accomplish with different kinds of knots.
