The bench also ruled by 15 votes to 1 that Pakistan had violated India's rights to consular visits after Jadhav's arrest.

PM said ICJ verdict was based on facts and that his government would always work for the safety of every Indian.

Apart from Rahul Gandhi, other Congress leaders including Priyanka Gandhi, Ahmed Patel and Randeep Surjewala too hailed ICJ's verdict.

Wednesday’s judgement was pronounced in favour of India with a 15:1 vote.

This case has stretched for more than three years now and it will take decisive turn when the ICJ will pronounce its ruling on July 17.

The ICJ President Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf will read the court’s decision in a sitting at 3 pm on Wednesday.
