DPIIT proposes national retail policy as part of its 100-day action plan

A national retail policy will be formulated to benefit 65 million small traders, an official said.

DPIIT which works under commerce and industry ministry, has prepared a draft definition and is seeking views of stakeholders.

DPIIT, sources said, does not intend to extend the deadline for seeking views on the draft e-commerce policy.

The department will start a round of stakeholder consultations on the draft policy from Friday.
