Increase tax exemption limit to Rs 3 lakh, says SBI report

MSRTC employees had gone on an indefinite strike on October 17 demanding the implementation of 7th pay commission.

The revised pay that will come into effect from January 1, 2018 will reflect a hike between Rs 10,000 and Rs 50,000.

The move will benefit 7.58 lakh professors, assistant professors and others.

According to reports, the demand is to increase the basic salary of central government employees to Rs 25,000.

Revised allowances will benefit 34 lakh civilian employees and 14 lakh defence personnel.

According to Jaitley, this decision is set to benefit more than 7.5 lakh 1-3 levels of government employees.
