Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan Friday that he would file a review petition on PTI secretary general Jahangir Tareen’s disqualification.

Speaking to reporters in Karachi after surviving Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz)’s Hanif Abbasi s disqualification petition, Imran Khan said he was disappointed on Mr Tareen’s disqualification.

“The case was lodged against such a person who did not hold public office for a single day”, Mr Khan said, adding: “Jehangir Tareen pays tax more than anyone else in Pakistan and we (PTI) will file review petition against Tareen’s disqualification.”

Mr Khan unleashed verbal onslaught against former premier Nawaz Sharif and stated that latter submitted only Qatari letters in his defence.

“No other parliamentarian can undergo such elongated accountability. It is a crime to juxtapose criminals against honest people”, maintained Mr Khan.

He took a jibe at National Accountability Bureau and said that anti-graft watchdog submitted half-finished evidence with apex court in Hudaibiya Paper Mills case against the Sharif family.

Earlier, the Supreme Court granted clean chit to Imran Khan in much-awaited and much-hyped disqualification case and dismissed all accusations leveled by Hanif Abbasi.

The apex court also rejected accusations of foreign funding over paucity of evidence and stated that it was not mandatory for Imran Khan to declare his offshore company Niazi Services Limited.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Privatization Daniyal Aziz said on Friday that everything occurred according to the pre-written script, claiming that drama has been staged only to pretend justice by disqualifying Jahangir Tareen and saving Imran Khan.

Speaking to reporters here, the PML-N leader claimed that the statement of Imran Khan’s lawyer was published in all newspapers. “His lawyer confessed to the crime,” he added.

“The aim was to save Imran Khan and PTI by sacrificing Jahangir Tareen. This is all according to the script,” he contended.
