Shivangi Joshi makes an entry as Naira

After an unceremonious exit from the show Begusarai, things are looking up for Shivangi Joshi. Not someone to keep sulking about the past, the actress went ahead and gave auditions for shows that came her way. Her efforts paid off and now she is part of the big ticket show, Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She will play the role of grown up Naira, the daughter of the leading couple in the show Akshara and Naitik Singhania. Even though she has started shooting her track in Rishikesh, Shivangi admits that she’s still coming to terms with the development.

Shivangi says, “I had to pinch myself to believe I am a part of Ye Rishta. Naira’s track is integral to the show so I am trying to give my 200 per cent. The show has had a dream run for eight long years. I hope with our combined efforts, we can run the show for another eight years.”

Interestingly, Dehradun, which is close to Rishikesh, happens to be the actress’ hometown. The role has given her a chance to revisit her childhood. She says, “I was born in Dehradun so the closest hang out was Rishikesh. I remember the innumerable boat rides I’ve taken there and my visits to Lakshman Jhula. I am reliving my childhood again, all thanks to the show.” Did working with Hina, make her nervous in any way considering the actress is said to be temperamental and reserved “Of course I was nervous working with Hina ma’am since she is a phenomenal performer. But I guess it is natural when you are working with established actors. You don’t want to disappoint them with your performance. But when I met her finally, I became comfortable.”
