Meghna Naidu to play an evil goddess

Meghna Naidu, who is still remembered for her Kaliyon Ka Chaman act, is the latest addition to the show Sasural Simar Ka. She will essay the role of Patali Devi, an evil goddess. While the supernatural seems to be a popular trend on TV at the moment, Meghna is happy with the development. The actress says, “It’s a good thing for me because I was always offered negative roles. I’d rather do such roles than cry all the time. I think the audiences are bored of the husband-wife, bahu-beti stories — so now it’s the daayans and naagins who are ruling the TRP charts.” Talking about her character, she says, “My character transforms into a snakewoman from liquid gold, so my character will be wearing a lot of gold on the show.”

While Meghna is now part of one of TV’s longest running soaps, she admits that she doesn’t catch up on daily shows. She says, “My mom is a TV addict and keeps discussing what is happening in these shows. I only watch Discovery Channel or the news. Right from childhood, I was never interested in serials.”

Besides the show, the actress also has a couple of movies in hand. She reveals, “I just finished shooting for Kya Kool Hai Hum 3, and a Marathi film with Om Puri.”
