Foxconn Technology Group is developing a glass casing for Apple’s smartphones, says report.

Apple is reportedly redesigning iPhone, with an ‘all glass’ chassis in line for the next year.

According to Nikkei, a Japanese website, Foxconn is developing glass casing for Apple’s smartphones. In a statement to Nikkei, a spokesperson familiar with the matter said, “Foxconn has been trying glass chassis since last year.”

Foxconn, is a Taiwan-based tech company who assembles iPhone and supplies metal case to Apple.

“It is only natural that Foxconn is trying to come up with glass chassis as the capabilities to provide more components will bolster its standing within the supply chain and help with more orders," said Nikkei’s source.

Earlier, KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo, known as best Apple analysts on the planet, and Allen Horng, the chairman of Catcher Technology (a long time iPhone chassis maker), revealed Apple to be working on an ‘all glass’ chassis.

In addition, reports from Patently Apple have suggested that the future iPhone will have a curved display, forming active sidewalls with virtual buttons. Also, rumours suggests that Apple may launch an all glass iPhone with an OLED curved edge display, adding more credibility to the recent reports.
