Several Reddit users have been reporting a common problem with Google’s Pixel smartphone.

The customers are reportedly facing an issue with the smartphone’s lens flare.

‘I’m loving the new camera, although the low light performance isn’t as good as I’d expected,’ user Willmono7 posted on Reddit while reporting about the distracting halo lens flare issue that occurs while clicking pictures in bright light.

‘Lens flare in a camera is normal but Pixel camera seems to be more susceptible than most. You’ll probably see it if you take a photo with a bright light source visible. In particular there’s a halo effect in the corners of the frame,’ reported Android Police.

However, not only has Google acknowledged this issue but has also promised a fix for the same.

‘We have seen reports about this ‘halo/arc flare.’ This is the specific kind of flare that appears as a bright/low-contrast arc in the corners of the frame,’ Google employee Isaac responded on the Pixel forum thread.

‘You can expect a software update in the next few weeks that will improve the effects of this issue. We’re working on some algorithms that recognize the halo/arc flare, characterize it mathematically and then subtract it from the image,’ he added.
