The Google Pixel 3 XL has been gathering a substantial amount of flak — thanks to its huge notch. In fact, despite Google nailing it in the camera and build department, the smartphone has been criticized for its ungainly notch and a thick chin. However, Google baked in a way to mask that notch within the Pixel’s Developer Settings. Despite that, the Pixel 3 XL still finds a way to annoy its users with its notch with a bug.

Several users of the Pixel 3 XL have reported their handsets to occasionally show the second notch on the corner of the screen. Users have reported that display is creating the second notch on one of the sides, covering up a valuable area. That area of the screen becomes unusable, with content wrapping around the area.

Now certain users, who have been affected by the bug, say that the issue can be solved temporarily by restarting the device. Some have even said that a single reboot has never brought out the issue again. Additionally, users can also go into developer settings and turn off the second notch manually. A report form Android Police also states the issue has been brought to Google’s notice and a fix has been promised over a software update.

The Pixel 3 XL is Google’s latest flagship offering for 2018 and offers the best of Android user experience. It’s built around a Snapdragon 845 chip and flaunts only a single 12.2MP rear camera along with Google’s computational photography algorithms to churn out some of the best photos we have seen from a smartphone this year.
