Amazon has recently announced an all-new Kindle Paperwhite that’s thinner, lighter, has two times the storage and comes with a waterproof design. The e-reader is priced at Rs 12,999 for the 8GB Wi-Fi version and 17,999 for the 32GB Wi-Fi and 4G model. These devices are already up for preorder and the 8GB Wi-Fi-only model will go on sale starting from 14 November. There is no available shipping date for the 32GB version as of yet.

The new Paperwhite features a flush-front design while the rear is made of a soft easy to grip material allowing it to rest easily in your hand. Amazon states that It is the thinnest and lightest Kindle Paperwhite yet, measuring 8.18mm thick and weighing 182g.  The 6-inch display has a pixel density of 300ppi and Amazon states that crisp, laser-quality text that reads like real paper. It also includes five LEDs and an adjustable front light for a uniform, glare-free display in any setting — even direct sunlight.

The all-new Kindle Paperwhite is designed to withstand accidental splash in the rain, drops in the bathtub, hot tub, pool and beach. It’s IPX8 rated to protect against immersion in up to two meters of fresh water for up to 60 minutes.
