The device will be a rebranded HTC U11 Ocean Life, with Edge Sense and HTC’s camera app.

Google’s Android One programme has seemed to gain a second life with the launch of the Xiaomi MI A1. We have already seen leaks of a Moto device flaunting Android One at the back, which seems to be an iteration of the Moto X4. HTC also seems to be gearing up for offering affordable smartphones with the purest version of Android as is evident from leaks.

LlabTooFeR, a popular tipster, has posted details of a new HTC smartphone that will be a part of Google’s Android One programme. The smartphone will be based on the U11 Ocean Life, which itself is assumed to be a stripped down version of the flagship U11 while retaining some flagship features (read about it here).

The photo shows a smartphone identical to the U11 flagship in aesthetics. The Ocean Life Android One will feature HTC’s much-acclaimed squeezable Edge Sense, USonic audio customisation, Zoe and HTC’s camera app. However, nothing else about this mystic HTC Android One phone has been revealed yet.

It seems that all Android One members are following a specifications configuration that at least has the following — 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, the latest Qualcomm mid-range processor and one feature from their respective flagships — Xiaomi’s A1 got a dual camera, the Moto Android One is expected to get the dual camera and the HTC Android One will get the Edge Sense.

It remains to be seen whether HTC will bring its Android One offering to the Indian market to either compete or sit above the Mi A1 for catering to Indian consumer’s increasing desire for stock Android.
