Wileyfox Pro with Windows 10 has been shown off at this year’s IFA for the B2B customers.
If you are under the impression that Windows Phone or Windows 10 Mobile has been wiped off the face of this planet, then you are wrong. Wileyfox, a smartphone manufacturer from the United Kingdom has unveiled a budget Windows 10 Mobile smartphone at the IFA 2017. This announcement has made the world of technology astonished.
The Wileyfox Pro comes preloaded with Windows 10 Mobile. It is built on top of a rather paltry Snapdragon 210 along with 2GB RAM. To keep its 5-inch HD display alive, there’s a 2100mAh battery inside. It also features an 8MP camera on the back and a 2MP front-facing unit. While all of this may have been adequate for an entry-level smartphone back in 2015, there could have been two purposes to pack such weak internals inside it — either Microsoft wanted Wileyfox to show that forgotten OS doesn’t require as much resource as an equivalent Android phone or they didn’t wish to incur heavy losses if this goes for a toss.
But then, this windows Mobile isn’t meant to sell to people like you and me. The Wileyfox Pro with windows 10 Mobile will be available only to B2B customers for use as company phones. The issue we see with that is that no company would like to adopt an ecosystem that doesn’t have major apps support. Anyways, if your organisation is interested, they can get them at $295 a piece.
