The popularity of PUBG Mobile in India has opened a new door of opportunity for gaming enthusiasts to showcase and flaunt their skills.

Tencent Games and PUBG Corp recently held India’s biggest eSports Championship – ‘PUBG Mobile Campus Championship 2018’ which culminated in the finale, in Bengaluru, on the 21st of October, 2018. The month-long eSports spectacle sponsored by OPPO India was the biggest-of-its kind, with 250,000 registrations over the span of one month. The eSports event garnered a tremendous response across the country with players registering in from more than 1000 colleges across 30 cities.

Following the 12 days of qualifying rounds, it was down to the last 20 squads to battle it out for the biggest chicken dinner of all at the KTPO Whitefield, Bangalore. The atmosphere was filled with the PUBG Mobile faithful who witnessed some top-notch tactical battle between the teams playing the gaming phenomenon that has swept India. The widespread popularity of PUBG Mobile in India has opened a new door of opportunity for gaming enthusiasts to showcase their skills.

The winning team, “The Terrifying Nightmares” from Mumbai, took home a cash prize of Rs 15,00,000 along with Oppo F9 Pro phones for everyone in the Top 15.

Post the final matches, several awards were given away to the players based on their performance which lent the PUBG Mobile enthusiasts, authentic legitimacy. The MVP of the Campus Championship was Eleen Raj from Team NSD with the maximum number of MVP awards on the final day. Hardeep Singh from Team “R4W Official” was awarded as ‘The Medic’ with maximum revives. With the maximum kills in one game, Jatin Gupta from Team “6ix9ine” earned the tag of ‘The Lone Ranger.”

To bring the PUBG Mobile experience for its fans, OPPO and Tencent Games came together to open a PUBG MOBILE themed store in Church Street, Bengaluru. This will give fans a chance to experience the game in real life. From the authentic combat feel to the recreation of the battleground, the showroom has it all, giving fans a chance to interact with and live their favourite game in all its glory.

The PUBG Mobile Campus Championship has come to an end and with it, has ended an eventful month for the PUBG Mobile faithful. With many such events in the pipeline, PUBG Mobile’s commitment to India is a testimony to the widespread demand in the market and its position as the game of choice in the country.
