After bigger names such as HTC and Samsung, Oppo is the latest smartphone brand found cheating on the benchmark tests. These tests aim to quantify the performance of a device and is often considered a parameter by customers to decide on which smartphone to buy.

UL Benchmarks has delisted OPPO after it found that the flagship OPPO Find X smartphone produced artificially high and misleading benchmark scores. Both the OPPO Find X and OPPO F7 have been delisted.

OPPO said that it allowed the chipsets to run at full speed when a user is detected running apps such as games or 3D Benchmarks which require high performance. However, the company is looking at upgrading its systems to distinguish between the requirements of everyday apps and what users wanted.
