Playing games was once considered to be a frivolous activity, perhaps the sorcery of a Devil keeping young minds away from formal education, homework, and other chores. That notion has been successfully challenged, with the emergence of the gaming industry as a multi-billion-dollar sector. In addition to multi-fold growth, the industry has also immensely rewarded the gaming talent that once persevered to follow their true calling in life.

Since the previous decade, gaming as an industry has only grown across the globe. Besides, major purchasers of video games are not the young kids but adults. This trend can be observed in the leading economies of the US and the UK, along with the fast-growing emerging economies like India. In fact, the leading gaming franchises have made more money than Hollywood blockbusters. Well-established corporates and multi nationals are presently engaged in developing games, creating significant job opportunities for the aspiring talent in the sector. Thus, to say the least, gaming is no longer a child’s play.

The Indian gaming market is fast catching up with the global wave. As per forecasts, it is going to be worth a billion dollar by 2021. There have been tectonic shifts in the available infrastructure that has enabled such a trailblazing growth of the sector. While there has been an increase in the disposable income, it has also become easier for users to afford high-end smartphones and high-speed mobile internet.

Together, these developments open the doorways for a user to the enticing world of gaming. In fact, the exposure transforms casual gamers into hard-core enthusiasts. While users may start with smartphone games, it doesn’t take long for them to switch to more mature formats, such as PC and consoles. This only rings in the favour of the gaming industry, since industry report estimates 300 million online gamers by 2021, also signalling at the huge growth opportunity promised by the sector.

In addition to the increase in the number of users, India is also gravitating towards a better gender and age parity amongst its burgeoning gaming clan. Although male gamers dominate in terms of numbers, an increasing number of passionate female gamers are giving them a tight run for their money. Furthermore, the sector is age-agnostic, offering something for every age group, typically between 6 years to 55 years.

Lastly, the multi-billion dollar industry has attracted the interest of technocrats as well. The future of gaming further looks promising with the emergence of revolutionary technologies, such as augmented reality and virtual reality. In the same light, let’s also look at some of the latest technologies, escalating the gaming experience to the next level:

Optimum performance with hyper-threading technology: Emergence of 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8750H has improved the core performance of gaming PCs. When combined with hyper-threading tech, the technology provides the perfect experience, while gaming or high performance working.

Super smooth display by 144Hz 3ms display: As the world fast evolves, the advent of 144Hz super-narrow-bezel display backed by ultrafast 3ms GTG response time ensures ultra-smooth display and clarity and thus, an immersive, action-packed gaming experience.

Desktop-inspired keyboard with Overstoke technology: PC gamers demand a similar experience while switching between desktops and laptops. With Overstoke technology, laptops are able to accommodate a 100% full-sized keyboard, with identical configurations, such as rectangular-shaped Enter key, longer Backspace, extra-wide Spacebar. Such keyboards offer the best experience, with an optimized key travel distance of 1.8mm.

No Wi-Fi blind spots with Range-boost technology: RangeBoost technology ensures no blind spot in connectivity, via proprietary 4 antenna configuration, i.e. 2x2 + 2x2 connectivity. This allows the gaming laptop to switch between the main and aux antenna, as governed by the strength of signal. This optimizes the radiation strength and enables a seamless experience for passionate gamers.
