Nobody likes the iPhone X notch, now there's an app out there promising to hide it with a little wallpaper trick,without jailbreaking.
Apple’s latest and greatest iPhone X is a beautiful phone. Of course, it has to be for that price but in one of the weird design choices, Apple kept a notch resembling horns on top of the phone. While it could be termed as a necessity as all the space below notch is taken by sophisticated hardware responsible for FaceID to work, but it sure looks out of place on the phone.
However, the iPhone X features and AMOLED display which means individual pixels can be turned off and developers were quick in developing ways to hide the display horns between two layers of inactive OLED pixels. You can do that with cleverly-designed wallpapers, and to do that there is an app for that. Meet ‘Notcho”.
With Notcho, you might as well forget about the iPhone X's notch. It does not only have a selection of carefully-crafted wallpapers for the iPhone X but also allows you to import any of your own pictures or images and make the area surrounding notch darker.
But there's a catch, as the wallpaper trick can only "hide" the notch on the home screen or lock screen, which means that you'll still see the notch on your iPhone X when running other apps. While the app is free, it will place a watermark on the wallpapers, which can be removed for a $1.99 USD one-time payment.
