Women’s Rugby XVs starts on a high note for ram

Rugby Association of Maharashtra (RAM) defeated Adibasi RFC 31-0 in the 85th edition of the All India & South Asia Rugby Tournament at the Bombay Gymkhana.

Earlier, the Women’s Rugby XVs Championship got underway with Odisha RFC defeating Haryana Bulls 51-0. Delhi Hurricanes defeated Magicians foundation India by 53-0 and Bihar RFC defeated CC&FC by 10-0.

And in closely contested men’s quarter-finals Kolkata Sergeants Institute (Cops) defeated Jungle Crows by 31-29 and Host Bombay Gymkhana beat the Maharashtra State Police - MSP by 17-7 and secured their place in the semifinals.

Defending Champions Delhi Hurricanes brushed past Bhubaneswar RFC 51-5 in a one sided affair while Sergeants Institute edged passed local rivals Calcutta Cricket & Football Club (CC&FC) 11-10 in a thrilling contest.

The top 10 teams in the country are battling for top honours- Army Red (SSCB), Delhi Hurricanes, Maharashtra State Police (MSP), Jungle Crows, Kolkata Sergeants Institute, Magician India Foundation, Bhubaneswar RFC, Bangalore RFC, CC&FC and hosts Bombay Gymkhana. The weeklong tournament will end with the Men’s summit clash on Saturday.
