Ravidra Kotiyan of Mumbai suburban district won the men’s title in the 48th Inter-District and 79th Maharashtra State Table Tennis Championship in Pune. He also won the youth boys’ singles titles.  Seventh-seeded Mamta Prabhu, also of Mumbai suburban district, took the women’s singles’ title in an upset victory.  

Ravindra got the better of Thane’s Zubin Taraporwala 4-0 (11-9, 11-8, 19-17, 11-4) in a fairly one-sided men’s singles’ final. He was equally dominant in the youth boys’ (under-21) final, taming Shaurya Pednekar 11/9,11/8,11/5,11/9.

Mamta too yielded only one game as she toppled top-seeded Senhora Dsouza 4-1 (11-9, 11-9, 11-7, 7-11, 11-7). In the youth girls’ singles, Srushti Haleangadi battled past  Shreya Deshpande 4-2 (11-6, 14-12, 11-6, 12-14, 11-13, 12-10) for a sweet triumph.

Raegan Albuquerque became the new junior boys’ singles champion, beating Shaurya Pednekar (4-1) 11-9, 6-11, 11-4, 11-7, 11-3 in the final. The junior girls’ singles title went to Shreya Deshpande. She beat Srushti Haleangadi 4-2 (11-8, 9-11, 11-6, 7-11, 15-13, 11-7).
