Don Bosco Borivali teams progress to semis

Don Bosco (Borivali) teams put up  impressive displays while entering the under-16 and under-14 semifinals of the suburban schools football tournament  in the  Poinsur Gymkhana’s 42nd North Mumbai Kridha Mahatsov here on Wednesday. They thrashed Borivali’s St. Xaviers 3-0 in the under-16 section, while their junior string downed Goregaon’s Gokuldham 2-0.

Hot favourites St. Francis D’Assisi’s under-16 team  defeated Rustomjee International from Dahisar 2-0 to storm into the semi-finals. However, they had mixed fortunes in  the under-14  section. The seniors were beaten by  Rustomjee International 3-0, but  their junior string brought cheers back into their camp as they put out Swami Vivekanand (Kandivali) 3-0 for a place in the last four.

Boys U-16: St. Francis D’Assisi bt Rustomjee Int (Dahisar) 2-0; St. Joseph H.S. bt Kapol Vidyanidhi Int. 3-0; Don Bosco (Borivali) bt St. Xavier’s (Borivali) 2-0. St.Lawrence (Borivali) bt Vibgyor (Goregaon) 2-0.

Boys U-14: Rustomjee Int (Dahisar) bt St. Francis D’Assisi ‘ A’ 3-0; Don Bosco (Borivali) bt Gokuldham (Goregaon) 2-0; St. Francis D’Assisi ‘B’ bt Swami Vivekanand (Kandivali) 3-0; Lakshdham (Goregaon) bt Prime Academy 1-0.
