Bipin BMC Camp lift football tourney cup
Kumar Rathod was the star campaigner for Bipin BMC and he got the player of the tournament award.
Bipin BMC Camp won the Bipin Football Academy 31st Annual Inter-Centre Football Tournament 2017 after trouncing Bipin Ulhasnagar-Ambernath Camp 2-0 in a hard-fought encounter in the finals held at the Karnatak Sporting Association ground on Sunday.
Kumar Rathod was the star campaigner for the Bipin BMC Camp as he struck a brace to end all hopes for the Bipin Ulhasnagar-Ambernath Camp as they were unable to make a comeback. Kumar Rathod also bagged the player of the tournament award.
The prizes were given away by Pramod Sail, Asst Comm, Mumbai Police and former Maharashtra football player, U Banerjee, Gen. Sec. MDFA, Jaya Shetty, Jt. Sec. Karnatak Sporting Association.
The Bipin BMC Camp were the surprise outfit this year as they rose from their ranks to win the tournament after a goalless draw with Kandivali earlier in the day and then sailed through to the finals after getting the better-off Churchgate in the semifinals via a tie breaker. In the other semifinal, Bipin Ulhasnagar-Ambernath Camp overcame Bipin Churchgate Camp by a lone goal through Nitish More to sail through the finals.

Semifinal 1 – Bipin BMC Camp 4 (Sunil Rathod, Santu Prajpati, Sijal Singh, Viju Singh) beat Bipin Churchgate Camp 3 (Kasa Prajapati, Hafiz Khan, Ahnawa Shinde) via tie breaker.
Semifinal 2 – Bipin Ulhasnagar-Ambernath 1 (Nitish More) beat Bipin Colaba Camp 0.
League matches: Bipin Colaba Camp 3 (Amrit Semwal 2, Mukesh Rathod) beat Bipin Andheri Camp 0. Bipin Kandivili Camp 0 drew with Bipin BMC Camp 0, Bipin Churchgate Camp 1 (Aharva Shinde) beat Bipin Kalyan Camp 0. Bipin Ulhasnagar-Ambernath Camp 2 (Nitish More, Abhay Vishukaram) beat Bipin Virar Camp 0.
