Dubai: India’s blind cricket team, who won the World Cup final against Pakistan in Sharjah on Friday, were on the top of the world the next day as they visited Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The Ajay Reddy-led team relished their trip to the world’s tallest tower.

Reddy said: “We are excited to have visited Burj Khalifa. We have no words to express our joy. Before the matches the team members had decided not to visit any mall or places in Dubai and this was our first outing.”

The victorious Indian team are scheduled to return to the country on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, the captain and the team received a congratulatory message from India’ chief selector M.S.K. Prasad.  Interest-ingly, both Prasad and Reddy hail from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.

Prasad, who is travelling with the team in South Africa, said: “I know Ajay for the past four years. Whenever I meet him, I always tell him that we are there to support him. I wholeheartedly congratulate the blind team on winning the World Cup.”
